OUR STATEMENT of FAITH—Core Beliefs and Values
(Read our FAQ’s and position statements here)
The Triune God We believe there is one true and living God who eternally exists in three persons: The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory. We believe that this triune God created, upholds and governs all things.
The Inspiration of the Bible We believe the Bible to be the only inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God, inerrant in its original manuscripts. Our ministry, therefore, emphasizes the exposition of God’s Word from Genesis to Revelation, line upon line, precept upon precept.
God the Father We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect and absolute in Holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer and that He saves from sin and hell all who come to Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.
God the Son We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son and Messiah. We believe in His deity, incarnation, virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings. We believe in His substitutionary and atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people and His personal, visible return to earth.
God the Spirit We believe in the Holy Spirit and His present ministry indwelling and empowering every believer to live godly lives. We believe He is God’s seal of our redemption and an abiding helper, teacher and guide who gave gifts to strengthen His people, the church.
The Need for Salvation We believe all people are sinners by nature and choice and are under judgment, and that God saves and regenerates by His Spirit all who repent of their sins and confess Jesus Christ as Lord.
The Church We believe the church is the living, spiritual body of Jesus Christ on earth, of which He is the Head and of which all regenerated people are members.
Christian Love We believe the only true basis of Christian unity is Christ’s love, which is greater than any differences we possess, and without which we have no right to call ourselves Christians.
Baptism and Communion We believe it is important to uphold the scriptural practices of the early church. We therefore practice water baptism and the regular partaking of Communion. We do not believe that either of these practices is essential for salvation, but that they serve as a demonstration of our living faith in Christ.
Things to Come We believe in the actual, visible return of Jesus Christ to earth, the resurrection of the dead, the establishment of His Kingdom, the last judgment, the eternal blessing of the righteous and the endless suffering of the wicked.
Marriage and Family We believe marriage was designed by God as set forth in the Bible and is therefore sacred. We believe that God instituted monogamous, covenantal marriage between male and female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. We therefore recognize and perform marriage in accordance with God’s sacred design revealed in Scripture.
We Believe the “Apostle’s Creed” embodies the fundamental truths of Christian faith.
