What is a Biblical Dinner?

Imagine sitting down to dinner with your friends around a low, oddly-shaped table, the room illuminated by ancient oil lamps. The table is set with a sumptuous feast straight from the pages of the Bible. You are seated at a banquet that occurred thousands of years ago. You pray in Hebrew. You have no dinnerware but your own hands. As you dine, you observe meal customs and table manners from the times of Abraham to The Last Supper. Your host walks you step by step through the rich significance of Biblical meals and their amazing spiritual application in modern everyday life. Suddenly your mind is brimming over with an exciting new understanding of the Bible, your heart aflame with the challenge to walk deeply in the love of Jesus Christ. This is a Biblical Dinner...

Jesus Loves You!

This powerful presentation is a feast for soul and spirit, examining a variety of subjects, including:

  • Remarkable historical revelations of the events surrounding The Last Supper
  • “Gifts of hospitality” and ancient table manners that open up many Old and New Testament Scriptures, whose meanings have long been long forgotten in Western culture
  • The vital significance of where the disciples sat at the Last Supper, and how it brings into sharp focus “how Jesus loved them unto the end…”
  • The tremendous implications of a simple piece of bread
  • The Biblical “peace meal” and meal covenants, designed to facilitate reconciliation with God and man

NewThe Biblical Dinner is also available in a seminar or sermon format! In order to better serve ministry schools, colleges, or special seminar requests where an actual sit-down meal would not be practical, the Biblical Dinner is also offered in a lecture format. This new design includes all the rich and colorful content of the Biblical Dinner in a classroom or pulpit setting. Additionally, the seminar length can be adjusted to meet your needs, ranging from a single hour to two eight-hour days of packed content, including cultural revelations in a Galilean wedding feast, crucifixion through the mind of a disciple, the concept of "living water," and more. MY DEEPEST APPRECIATION to the amazing people of Biblical Resources, especially Elfie, Barbara, and Dr. Jim Fleming for inspiring this ministry, and to my friend Gayle Erwin, who opened my eyes to the sublime nature of Jesus. I would also encourage you to visit the websites of Biblical Resources, Explorations in Antiquity, and Servant Quarters, to meet the people who (mostly unbeknownst to them) have guided me on my journey. -- Pastor Jay
