Camps, Retreats and Seminars

Camps 2Nearly all of the great men and women of the Bible took time to get away and spend a few days with God. Sometimes it was a true wilderness experience, other times, as with the Lord Jesus, He often went up into the hills just to enjoy His Father. Here at Calvary Chapel we value following their good examples by occasionally getting away from the cares of everyday life and setting aside a whole weekend, or just a day, to fellowship together with the Lord.

Our Retreats often involve the Men's, Women's, or Youth ministries of the church, and typically consist of a weekend of worship, prayer, Bible study, and fellowship. Held at a nearby retreat facility, our retreats frequently involve special guest speakers and, as always, lots of excellent food.

During the summer, many of our families will attend our Family Camp, a mostly no-agenda weekend of great food (of course!), warm fellowship and lots of outdoor recreation.

Camps 3On some of our national holidays, we will gather for an all-church Picnic and Baptism, usually at the American River.

Occasionally we offer special one-day seminars, usually held at the church. Seminars of the past have featured guest speakers such as Gayle Erwin, Ken Needham, Duane and Terry Clark, and Dr. Thomas Kindall, speaking on subjects ranging from the Nature of Christ to Marriage Enrichment to the Creation-Evolution Debate.

All camps, retreats, and seminars are offered at the lowest possible cost to the individual, with some presented on a love offering basis and others completely free of charge.
