Christian Masterpieces by the Masters

In our rapidly shifting culture the significance, character, avaibility, and quality of true fine art has been in steady decline. Yet the masters of old, whether Christian believers or not, managed to produce soul-rending, thought-provoking masterworks of a sort which we may never see again. Thus, we will attempt to offer in this slowly expanding gallery a few transcendent pieces for your edification, meditation, and perhaps a little provocation...

"St. Thomas" by Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio (1571-1610) (John 20:19-31)

"Emmaus" by Diego Velasques (1599-1660) (Luke 24:13-32)
